Susie Essman Visits Stand Up NY
If I can say one thing about the men (and at least one woman) here at Stand Up NY it’s that we are all definitely Ess-men. Can’t help it. It’s just what we are attracted to. Well, this past Tuesday the comedy gods blessed us with the presence of Susie Essman and we just couldn’t curb our enthusiasm. Filming a promo add for the Christopher Reeves foundation, Susie stopped by for an hour or so to shoot on our world famous and recently renovated stage.
“Fuck, this place is looking fucking amazing! This has got to be the best fucking comedy club in the city,” Essman remarked upon entering. And even though we all fucking knew this already, it was still nice to hear it from the same mouth that refers to Larry David as a “four eyed fuck.” (‘Fuck’ count: 5)
While filming, she slipped right into her usual Susie Greene character from Curb, peppering the video with her hilariously obscene and vulgar language. Obviously, we didn’t expect anything less. Off camera, she was rather pleasant and kind, commenting on my own good looks and general pleasant demeanor. I later brought her our new VIP section, where we fuckin’ fucked. Ah, just another day at the office….
